This is the absolute opposite to the idea of visiting as many countries as possible in a week like the American tourist who "does Europe" in seven days. There is nothing wrong with this and it is very rewarding, but in a different way. The most you can gain is a fleeting if memorable impression.
Staying at the same place year after year provides a richer tapestry of experience. You find not just the obvious crowded beaches or restaurants but the quieter less well known ones.
The same is true in a work context: repeating an outsourcing project for the tenth or twelfth time provides a far deeper appreciation of the task and an ability to learn and contribute more.
