"And here I sit so patiently
Waiting to find out what price
You have to pay to get out of
Going through all these things twice"
How often is that true in life. We live and learn lessons, sometimes the hard way. We may even record them in books or blogs or pass them on to others in some form or other. They may be our lessons or things we have learnt from books or study. Perhaps an MBA or in my case a week at Harvard Business School on their Leading Professional Services Firms Course.
Yet the very next time the same or similar circumstances occur we all tend to forget or at least partially forget the sometimes profound learning. Returning from Harvard, for example, most people feel almost evangelical. However pretty soon the daily grind and also other people's cynicism takes over.
The art of life is to retain and apply the lessons of our personal history.
