| I ended this year with a visit to Pune in India. Fascinating place but what struck me most were the contrasts that are so starkly visible there. The contrast between the shanty towns and the shining new business parks. The contrast between the chaotic roads and the calm and elegant five star hotels. Yet above all everything seemed to fit together with a certain form of harmony. I learnt early in my working life that contrasting personalities and approaches is a constructive thing, even though it may seem at first to lead just to disagreement. Hard though it may be to accept sometimes, having somebody working with you who has a different view of life and work can lead to more creative solutions to challenges and problems. |
